More Bali!

Places to visit in Bali...hmmmm..there are so many place..just don't know where to start. Been surveying on which location to visit next after my trip to Bangkok last year. Always wanted to go to Bali, as i search through the internet and found lots of nice scenery pictures taken especially Sunsets. Coincidently AirAsia was haking a promotion and i got the flight ticket for quite an affordable price. only RM30 excluding tax eh...

As soon as we touch down, we got hold of an agent and plan for our trip. Here's our itinery.

Day 1
1st destination : Barong Dance

We are suppose to attend the Barong Dance at Ubud, but we end up in Sanur coz lack of time. Traffic jam due to the Kite Festival in Bali, happen to be the last of the celebration. So, we were caught in the jam for quite sometime as people are transporting Huge Kites on the their vehicles and playing the Kompang escorting to an open field sto start the kite flying competition. We miss a few minutes of the Barong, but it's ok..we had a paper explaining the plot of the stage show. I was not really impressed with the show..it's just ok..kinda bored. Just people moving around the stage screaming with this high pitch tune..which i don't understanding a thing that they say. All in all, it is a good experience.

2nd destination : Tampak Siring Temple

This place is a Must See, apparently there were some prayers going on, so we can see people actually going down to the pool and cleanse themselves and giving offerings to the God. It's really something that you have to be there to see. People with their sarongs wrap tightly around their waist, then jump into the pool (the water is really cold by the way). Ladies with colourful baskets held on their head, bearing offerings. In order to get into the Temple, same goes to any other temples in Bali, we have to wear a sarong or tie a piece of cloth around the waist in order to get in. If you happen to be travelling in Bali, just bring a shawl wherever you go, so you don't have to waste money to rent one.

3rd destination : Celuk and Mas Village

Famous for manufacturing gold and silver, there's nothing you can do there. Usually, the tour guides will take you to the export center where they display silver or gold chains and rings. Which is actually a waste of time, because you won't buy any. But it's on the way to the next destination. So,what the heck..we just went along, taking more pictures..hehe.. Being very tourisy..

4th destination : Kintamani Volcano and Lake Batur

Kintamani Volcano

Scenery : Fantastic! Breath Taking! Phenomenal!

Environment : Cool breeze along with Fresh air

Volcano Status : Still Active, Last erruption at 1997.

Living Beings : A colony of people, was told that they don't bury dead bodies and let them rot in open air. Yucks!

Lunch Buffet : Sucks!

Although the lunch sucks and so damn expensive. But we did enjoy the view from the restaurant. We had the Window seat overlooking the Volcano and Lake Batur. Cool breeze brush against our face while having our lunch. Wow! You just have to be there to experience it. Didn't really have time to really sit down as we need to rush to the next location.

Peace!

Juice it up!

Our Tour Guide - Milo

Samantha didn't know that there's an open window, she thought there was a glass window there. She didn't realise it until we were halfway through our lunch. Haha!

5th destination : Coffee & Spice Village

This place is like located deep in the forest. We have to walk through a path to get to a little hut, where all the magic happens. a small hut filled with chocolate and coffee and also some tea..hehe. Samantha tried cooking coffee seeds and also we did some coffee and tea tasting. Get to see cocoa tree, coffee tree and also vanilla tree. Vanilla looks like long bean, really something i never seen before.

Pathway down to the little hut..Doris just can't get enough of the camera.

6th destination : Besakih Temple
This is the biggest Temple in Bali. My my, it is quite a climb in order to reach to the highest peak of the Temple. It is really a magnificent sight once we reach up there. Worth the climb after all, Doris was really determine to climb up the steep journey up. Determination pays off, well she really look good in her bikini..haha. And she bought quite a few bikinis since she had already achieve her bikini bod..thanks to the climb up to Besakih Temple. Sigh..What girls have to go through to fit into the bikini.

Entrance to Besakih Temple, saw the dragon stairway?

Nice shot eh...

Hehe...more pictures of us..the 'Beh Tahan Girls'

Stairways up to heaven??!! Look at the pathway up to the mountain

How can we visit places without taking pictures eh...hehe!!

7th destination : Bukit Jambul Terrace Rice Paddy Fields
When in Bali..you just have to see the terrace rice paddy, i heard there are more nicer ones than this. In tegalalang perhaps, we didn't have enough time. So, we ended up in Bukit Jambul.

Bukit Jambul

8th destination : Kerta Gorsa
There's nothing much to see at Kerta Gorsa. So, don't waste your money and time there. It's just a museum. Nothing much we can do there either.

We can't imagine that we have visited so many places in just one day. Imagine what we did for the next 7 days while we were there. There's so many things to do and so many things to see. On my next entry, i'm gonna highlight the places that we visited. Lots of temple and sunsets.. Hehe..
