Blood is Thicker Than Water

I think the idiom speaks for itself. Who is more important in comparison with your own flesh and blood? NO ONE! If anything happens to anyone of my family, I'll be the first one there. I'll put down everything and head straight to my family member in need. Even if it will cost me my job or even a promotion, I'll sacrifice it because when they need me, i will be there no question asked. No one can question me what i do for my family. But to what extend?

I know this will contradict myself, but i just have something to share. When one of your family member had a fight with one of your best friend, whose side are you on? Naturally, you will be on your family's side. Hey, because Blood is Thicker Than Water right? That is the most natural thing people will do and i don't doubt that. Because if it is me in that situation, I'll definitely will stand on my family side, initially.

Why? Because they are family, it's cliche, i know! But hey family is family. No one can be rude to anyone of my family! But i will definitely talk to my best friend and clarify the situation. Then only i will talk to family member on their side of the story. Well, i don't expect anyone to lie on this matter because family don't lie to each other and definitely you don't want your best friend to lie to you either. If my family member is in the wrong, i will definitely say it clearly that they are wrong because it is wrong to get angry with someone furthermore in a fight without knowing the truth. If it is my best friend's fault, i will also tell him/her off because he/she is my best friend. Why be friends if we are not truthful to each other? But honestly, my family member will get more scolding from me than my friend.

My sister told me that one of her friend said something bad about me. It really pisses her off and she stood up for me and got into an argument. Love you sis, for standing up for me. If anyone talks shit about anyone of my family, i will get pissed too! I'm sure everyone would feel that way, even whatever mistakes they have done previously will be totally forgotten.

Yes, we do argue and bicker a lot. Which sibling doesn't? We may shout at each other but deep down inside, we have already forgiven and we will totally forgot about it the next day. We don't keep grudge towards family member. I may be fighting with my sibling tonight and total pals the next morning. That is the magic of being in a family. You totally forgive and forget. BUT, what if it is because of a family member that caused the feud? Will you easily forgive and forget?

I have been through this situation where my best friend wrongly accused me of something and without knowing the truth. My friend (let's called that person as 'A') got angry with me and we got into a fight, because A is only hearing it from the family member's side. Yes, you will believe them, definitely right? But don't get angry with another person without asking and jump into a conclusion with no facts. I won't go into detail what we were fighting about because it doesn't matter what happens, because i am emphasizing on handling the situation than dwelling with actually what happen.

When someone accused you for something, what would you usually do? You avoid that particular person right? Well, that's what i did. Firstly, i was very hurt because A is my close family friend. To be accused by someone that you think knows you best it's even more hurtful. Secondly, A is the one that i thought understands me the most because we have been friends for more than 8 years. Lastly, To end a friendship this way is not worth it because we have been friends for so long. What do i tell my parents? We are no more friends? What if A's parents bump into my parents? that would be awkward.

Thankfully, A realised the mistakes and tried to mend things for us again. Truthfully, i can forgive for everything that A says or did to me mentally and emotionally. But i don't think i can ever forget this incident entirely although we have promise to each other that we will put everything behind us.I will definitely try, but i know there is like a barrier now. I'm always thinking whether i do this or that is appropriate or what i say how is A going to imply. I may say one thing and A will misinterpret it as something else. I become more paranoid and develop a inferior complex towards anything i say or do. Definitely not a normal friendship anymore.

What i am trying to say is, how can we approach this situation without getting into an argument and further say things to each other that hurts even more. No one can handle the truth, that's why we need true friend to say things that normal acquaintance would not say it. We need that, someone to put our feet back to the ground when we need it, someone to pull us back into reality, someone to hit you in the face when they know you are being a bitch!

I'm glad that we had worked things out finally. Hopefully with this, we will understand each other more. This is not the first time we quarrelled, but it pulls us even closer. I'm happy that we got to know each other and learn from each other and accept each others mistakes. I'm really trying really hard to put everything behind me. Hopefully, one day i will totally forget about it. As i really miss the old times i had with A. Just pray that we will be back to the way we used to be!

Road Trip to Hatyai on CNY

I just got back from Hatyai! It's a very inpromptu road trip down to Hatyai with my parents and sister. It's Chinese New Year, i have my day off till Thursday, so..why not right? Too bad i couldn't spend more time visiting my friends and family as we left at the wee hours in the morning on the 3rd day of Chinese New Year.

We stopped by Butterworth to meet a family friend, we had a quick lunch with my dad's friend and thought of going on with our journey as it takes another hour to reach the border of Thailand at Bukit Kayu Hitam. They invited us to stay the night and head on to Danuk the next morning, we decline their thoughtful offer and went straight down to Thailand.

We dropped by the Duty Free to get some wine, Me and sis bought Bailey's and yup, we finish the whole bottle in 3 days, but this is nothing compared to the night we partied at Malacca(will blog about it soon) HAHA! After getting the Insurance done for my car to enter Thailand, we have to drive for another hour to reach Hatyai. when we finally reach, most of the hotel was fully booked. But we manage to get a hotel room for a very good price, about 880 baht per night. Not exactly located right in the middle of town, we have a car, so it's not a big issue. Hatyai is not really that big, we can get into town by walking, but i don't think my parents can walk, still drive better.

We were driving around town looking for some typical Thai food, after roaming around town we found a night market, hey..it's the best place to find good food, could be cheap too! We found a parking spot and walk towards to market. The first thing i saw that i have to try Thai meat balls!

The Night Market

My mom can't wait to get in line to try some.

I like these little round things..taste so good.

This intestine like thingy..really taste good too. very spicy indeed

There are so many things that i see at the night market that we could not find in the local night markets. Something that i thought only high class restaurant can pride, but it is selling like hot cakes at the night market. Yes, it is none other than... Lobster!

So many...guess how much is it?

Not that big, but atill looks big enough..for 200 Bhat per piece..not bad

Look at the durians...it is so damn huge!!!

My dad says i am not allowed to go to Thailand so often, because he says that each time i come here, i tend to buy everything that is in front of my eyes, especially food. But you can't find food like this in Klang or KL, not even Malacca. And it is so f**king cheap man. Where can you find a place selling pork everywhere, Singapore also cannot like that la.

Chinese New Year in Thailand is really Chinese New Year la. CNY ornaments, fantastic and gigantic, trying to rhyme la..but tak jadi. They place huge offerings for the God, i mean really huge ones. Too bad, just for deco, cannot eat one la

Look! Monsterous duck!

Mutant Grapes!

Offering to the God! Nice le.

What is CNY without the Lion Dance!

Enough about Hatyai! An hour drive away from Hatyai is a town called Satorn. My dad wanted to visit the Port Tamalalang, so we thought we just just follow him and accompany. Each time we stop at a traffic light, there is always people going around car by car selling things. In India and Philippines, you will find people begging for money. In Malaysia, people sell newspapers and Lottery numbers. In Thailand, they sell jasmine flowers. Something for the car, it smells real nice.

It really smells great.

Look at the shape, looks like little tiny bells

On our way down, we happen to see a huge crowd at the side of the highway. So, curiously we stopped to see what was going on, apparently, it is the Satorn's International Kite Festival 2008. We happen to be on the last day os the festival. What Luck!

There definitely must be kits la. Kite Festival ma.

Where there is festival there is definitely FOOD!! Cheap Food!!! Food Glorious Food!! Yummy yum yum!!! Look at all these food!!!

Rows and rows of stalls selling mountain of food at a bargain!

Chick-ken!

Cute little things!

The shape and colour looks delicious

Don't know what is this thing, sigh..too many things to buy and try, but didn't manage to try this. Too much food already!

Thristy..look at the deco for their Cincau, nice right..why can't we do that in Malaysia ah?? Visiting stall by stalla dn this caught my eyes, huh?? Looks colourful and familiar..It's, It's Hello Kitty on a stick. You really can sell anything with little kitty on it, from household items, to toilet seats, jewellry, now they also venture into food products. Reeeeeally marketable eh...

Beautifully decorated cincau!

Hello Kitty!!!???!!!

I'm so sick of Little Kittties, i am going to destroy it...Me, my sister and my father..Yes! My father is sick of Hello Kitty! *Chomp Chomp*

Acting cute

Not trying to act cute...can never be cute

Dad so sporting (actually..we force him into this, hehe!)
Ohhh...then there is candies, lots and lots of colourful candies to choose from. Bubble tea stall is called Magic Milk! HAHA!! MOOOOOO000000......

Colourful Candies!!!

Sweets Heaven

This is our Candy man..so to say..

uuhhh...Dragon...nice or not?

They have Art and Crafts too, they can just think of anything eh...At one point, my sis wants to take everything home, even the kids (see bottom pic)

Kids colouring

MMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........

It's kind of a hassle carrying coconuts around..so my dad uses the big plactic bag to hold his drinks..talking about being innovative eh..haha!!

This is also another thing that my dad could not resist.

Yes, he can't resist coconuts and also cuttlefish! Cheap, only 50 cents per stick!

Sis, Mom and Dad

Nice.. I mean the butterfly kites on the background!

Me and Sis..Time is just right..the wind blew the kite..we can't help ourselves but to buy one. Making excuses that it is actually for Little Joey(Baby that my mom is babysitting). Haha!

After done testing all the food..watching all the colourful kites..Cam-whoring all the way..we decide to leave. It takes about an hour drive back to HatYai, better leave before it gets dark.

Then we saw something, thought that it is sea coconut water..i know we had lots of coconuts already...but still cheap ma..

So, my Dad pulls over and we went down, thought we could buy a drink or two. But, there are no drinks. No water, just the fruits.

Sea Coconuts, to eat..no drinks!

Looks familiar right?? looks like something you see on tv right? This fruit is going to make me rich..like seeing a familiar figure on edibles. It's a familiar face, come to think of it..it looks like...

Sigh, just a scary mask you see on Scary Movie 4! Have to urge to post it on ebay..see how much i can sell for this.. Sigh my easy plan to be rich overnight will not come true. who the hell wants to buy a coconut that looks like a ghost right? Same or not?

This is definitely a long post, so i will update you guys further on my next few days what we did at danouk! Don't want to bored you with more crazy things happening in my life at CNY! Hehe!

Dong Dong Chiang!

Wow, time flies so quickly that we are now celebrating another new year. Can't wait for another long holiday. I will only be starting back to work on Thursday!! Yay!!! A long holiday at last. My dad last minute plans for a good 4 days 3 nights vacation to HatYai! A roadtrip down to Thailand, The Land Of Smiles!

Will tell you guys about it when i come back on the 12th. For now, will show you guys a little bit about the events at my work place. Everyone knows about my passion for artwork, if you have beenreading my blog, you will definitely know that my company always held this Decoration competition. Sigh! couldn't help myself but to get invlove again. I am telling myself that this is going to be my last time getting invlove in these knid of activities, it doesn't help with my overall ratings anyway. So, i better just sit down in front of my computer and just WORK.

My Team

The judgement day was on the 4th of January, 3 days before the big day! Hopefully we win again, as we have bribe the judges with cheese and cream crackers. Why not Mandarin Oranges and Cookies?

It's the Year of the Rat ma, so our theme of deco is all about rat. My colleagues are all dressed as rats. Definitely we have to eat rat food lo, CHEESE!! Improvise ma, Mandarin oranges is old school liao la.

Then we have our own Lion Dance and 'Ta Tou Fu', I guess with these two things we have already stolen the show and gain the judges attention. Our main purpose la, because just by deco, we won't be able to win, performance, a little extra will give us some bonus points, hehe!

Anyway, that is how we celebrate Chinese New Year at work.

Cute or not?? (Say cute, if not i'll bite you)
